10 Feb 2015 by Kat Muir

Welcome to all returning members & new players to Season 2015. The new 2015 committee is looking forward to an exciting season and hope that all families have an enjoyable experience at Sunbury Lions Junior Football Club.

To assist our coaching staff prepare and plan for the upcoming season, we encourage all members who have not yet registered to complete the online registration process. Teams are selected based on those players that are actually registered in the Sporting Pulse National Registration system. In order to ensure players are eligible to be part of the team selection processes, please ensure you complete you registration by Monday 2nd March. To register go to our website www.sunburyfc.com.au and click on the link Register for Season 2015. An online Registration Guide is available on our website to download. Once you have completed the online registration process, you will have the option to pay online via Credit Card or bank transfer. Payment can also be made in person on Registration Day. EFTPOS facilities available.

This year all clubs in the RDFNL will incur a player levy fee which will be used to fund a league Football Development Manager. With this in mind, a slight increase in our membership fees has been put in place to cover the extra costs to the club. This season we will be offering a $10 Club Apparel voucher to players in lieu of a registration gift. To ensure that our registration fees did not incur a hefty hike for this season, the committee have agreed on using funds to purchase new equipment for the club. We are in need of new tackle bags, first aid kits & footballs and unfortunately these do not come cheap.

The RDFNL will be holding a major raffle for 2015 and all clubs will be allocated tickets to be sold by each family. The first prize is a brand new car from Harrison Toyota Melton.

Once again we will be holding our annual Cadbury Chocolate Fundraiser. This is our only major fundraising activity for the season and ask that everyone supports this.

Sponsorship plays a big part in sporting clubs, and we are currently seeking potential sponsors who can assist us. The committee is in the process of putting together different sponsorship packages. If you feel that you can help out please contact any of our Executive Committee members.

Our club pride themselves on their volunteers and would like to remind parents that assistance is required on game days to ensure that your child’s team can take to the field. Whether it be running the boundary, assisting with First Aid or simply providing the oranges, every little bit helps. A great opportunity to meet new people and reacquaint with old friends, volunteering for a job will ensure that your child’s team will be ready for game day. You will enjoy it & so will your child.

During season 2015 the club social rooms will be opened to all families on training nights and on game days. Complimentary tea & coffee will be available. We do request that children under the age of 10 are supervised and football boots are to be removed before entering the rooms.

A list of the 2015 Committee and contact details can be found on our website. We welcome any feedback and comments regarding the club, so please feel free to contact any of the committee members.
